• Director of Diablo IV Gold games Joe Shely explains during a recent roundtable conversation that reimagining sets in a manner which is suitable for Diablo 4 properly wouldn't be feasible for the launch of Diablo 4 in the first quarter of next year, but the team is considering the possibility of incorporating them into the live-streaming service.
  
  "As we've been developing the game, we realized like we could evolve sets in a new style that's similar to what we've seen in Diablo 3. But, we needed some more time before we could get sets in the game in an approach that works well with the rest of Diablo 4, so you won't see sets at launch as part of the gameplay," Shely explains. "We think sets are cool, and we want to be sure that they're done right - so that's something we're looking towards for live play."
  
  "There's a staff legend in the demo that transforms the spell's fireball in triple fireball," former director of games Luis Barriga told Polygon(opens in new tab) back in the year 2019. "The thing that's different is that you know, a set right now in live Diablo 3 gives you bonuses that are a lot more than the thousands. We're attempting to design the game to be a little more limited to prevent us from getting ourselves into that escalating energy curve."
  
  If you're not aware the term, Set Items are in essence strong pieces of gear that offer more power when placed together. They're "set" in that they provide the exact advantages, and, of course they're part of sets. They first appeared in Diablo 2, though it was in Diablo 3 that they began to become the most dominant.
  
  It remains to be seen how they will affect the Diablo 4 meta should they occur, but there's no doubt their influence on the growing fashion scene will be felt. The Diablo 4 beta hasn't convinced me yet, but I can't wait to cheap Diablo 4 Gold play more (Set Items or not).
