Overview
- I am awestruck by the quests that are that are in the OSRS gold game! I'm with you that they're definitely of a different calibre. As a fan of RS3 I would say that their quests are in general more enjoyable (they preserved the great writing style, but often went beyond the original, but they're more lore and less British cheeky, which, while fun sometimes, particularly with its humour and puns can also contain outdated views) But many quests are of course the exact same and a lot of my personal favourites can be found in both games! I'm not the biggest fan of the fact that some of the older material is filled with stereotypes (Ratcatchers and numerous Desert quests, looking at you!) and promotes alcoholism for more than half the population of the game. It's very easy to let your hair down it while doing them but a lot of quests are based on not necessarily 'good' stereotypes.
There was a game called A Kingdom Divided during Leagues and absolutely loved the quest. It's an excellent blend of lore, intrigue, and brain-based, and offers an ending to the story that was outlined in the other Zeah quests. Dragon Slayer II was also excellent, even though it was a bit like OSRS using a lot of RS3 story beats. It's not my favorite game. Monkey Madness II - it was often reminiscent of the game that tried to recreate the excitement of Monkey Madness I (one of my most-loved games) It was extremely go-do-this-then stealth section took up an excessive amount of the quest for how specific the 'solution to the quest's problems' was. Sins of the Father is an excellent alternative to RuneScape's Branches of Darkmeyer/Lord of Vampyrium story beat. The three games are all amazing in their own right.
Purely RS3: It's a great game. Chosen commander (and the preceding Dorgesh adventure) is a different experience and, while Guthix Sleeps is an amazing experience, Azzanadra's Quest is extremely well-written (but so are many of the other storyline quests of Zaros) I'm not a fan of the way they changed the requirements for quests by not obligating quests that are essential to the story, however. Lord of Vampyrium is my absolute favorite, and it's an excellent conclusion to the Myreque storyline (even even though the vampire storyline will continue after this; River of Blood is a pretty good sequel).
Both games have been a huge fan of One Small Favour. Although in certain places cheap OSRS GP takes the mick about your own abilities to solve the problem at hand (just head to differentsmith, just murder HAM for unrightfully kidnapping Jimmy and sharpening the axe on your own whetstone ), just eliminate the dwarves who are constantly laughing behind your back). ...) I like the increasing frustration that as well as the character feel during the request. Garden of Tranquillity has a similar feel.
