  The first time Chromie appeared in the game was in 2004. Chromie is a time-travelling bronze dragon, who adopts the form of a female gnome during her Visage Day ceremony to interact with mortals in the game. For a Bronze Dragon, Chromie's name would be Chronormu which is considered male since it incorporates an "ormu" suffix whereas female names for bronze dragons typically begin with an "ormi" suffix. A regular fixture in the game, Chromie appears throughout WoW's numerous expansions offering quests for players. She is also an active character in Blizzard's abandoned MOBA, Heroes of The Storm.
  
  According to PCGamesN In the PCGamesN article, players who received early copies of Blizzard's Folk and Fairy Tales of Azeroth tales of legends have found his preferred pronouns have been explicit in the story "Visage Day". According to the novel, Chromie opts to be the shape as a female gnome for the Visage Day ceremony, a celebration of coming of age where bronze dragons decide to adopt their mortal forms. After choosing her mortal attire, Chromie is asked why she specifically chose to be female, to which she says "It works for me."
  
  Fans immediately went to Twitter to reach out to WoW's narrative leader, as well as the author of the tale, Steve Danuser for further clarification on Chromie's gender.
