Overview

  • The battle is amazing and extremely addicting and what got me hooked from the first location although PVP isnt available for NA. The PSO2 Meseta down side for me is that once I maxed out a class to par 75, there wasnt much else to do because you can breeze thru the material as soon as you have semi-decent equipment and (in my view ) not really worth doing because you may make a whole lot more cash in PSO2 outside of combat. Drops are rare and not worth much. As a game, it is fun, simple, & casual but you wont find a challenge. The RPG aspect is about as infinite as it can be for space and your character.

I used to play with BnS A LOT. I really don't think any mmo has combat as great as BnS imo so while PSO2's battle is great, it pales in comparison. That having been said, I very much like PSO2's. It's more action-oriented. You've got infinite dodges (maybe not iframe. just your dodges have no cd) and few classes have a minute cd buff that fosters their harm by a lot temporarily. There aren't any"raids" like you may be utilized to and there's no content so hard you need to push yourself to constantly chase the BiS equipment. Speaking of gear, it is more customizable (though ofc there are meta or BiS assembles ).

There's no pvp in PSO2 yet but we will have a mode later on. Your class will not actually matter for this because abilities and equipment are handicapped and you pick up a random weapon (you may reroll this weapon should you desire.) There is not involved from the pvp mode. Much like skill shots. What I like about PSO2 over BnS is that the quantity of content. You can literally waste your own time just redecorating your space if you need or you may try your hand in the multitude of different types of"dungeons."

I have not played the other games you have talked about, but I think it's relevant to mention that PSO2 started in Japan 8 decades back, and the NA release is intentionally waaaaay behind. I'm closing in on my first NA level 75 course but I have basically no experience using JP, hence the following advice is my understanding from what I've seen with this particular subreddit, not firsthand experience. We have QoL and some class stuff from episode 6 (latest in JP), we have story up until episode 3, we've got real classes up to episode 4, and we are now facing bosses in the episode two era.

All to say, there is plenty of content and NA is likely on a quicker pace for"new" content than any other MMO has been, because we've got all those years of present content to this only needs localization and possibly minor tweaks. And to buy meseta pso2 add on we're still getting 100% original content. The current event is 4th of July/Independence day and there's some interesting new models in the heart (the shopping area has a giant statue of freedom ) and fresh VERY American outfits to your Arks.
