Overview

  • The most noticeable change to this game comes in the form of players physical characteristics - specifically, that they feel far more like playing the stars they are supposed to represent. In real life they'd have abandoned in the dust however in FIFA that they manage to recuperate FIFA 23 coins. Handy if you are playing a team much better than yours but infuriating if you're the attacking side.

Well, today the discrepancies in speed and strength feel like a big portion of the sport, together with the quicker players able to pull off and the more powerful ones using a simpler time of muscling players from the ball. Like, frankly, I haven't banged one in direct for about five decades now, and each and every time I get one anywhere close to the box I usually go for a dummy run and a pass rather. Mercifully, the whole system seems to have been overhauled for FIFA 23.

A lot of comparisons are being made with the present system in the PGA games but the push is that you literally aim a reticle on your planned place, then control the ball before striking it, adding spin throughout the run-up. Again, hands up, I still absolutely suck at it, but it definitely feels like I might get the hang of this one. It is a move which may upset several players - specifically those who've obtained free falls down to a fine art - but it's an element of the game that is badly needed an overhaul for a couple of decades now. Saying that, grab me FIFA 21 talking about how thankful I am that they've battled this system because"hands up, I'm absolutely horrible at it".

OK, in some point over the summer, someone told me that the new FIFA had Indoor Mode back in it, just like it had in FIFA'97 - the best edition of the game. Well, it sort of does, and it's named Volta. Sort of a huge mesh of indoor style, FIFA street (remember that?!) Along with The Journey, Volta is made up of a couple distinct modes and hugely aids the overall replayability of this game. The thrust here is brief, little, games which highlight close control and flair in tight arenas cheap FUT 23 coins. 3v3s and 4v4s full of smart flicks and passes that rebound off graffitied walls, all into some banging soundtrack with very distinctive-looking players.
