    Ashland Community

     

    Ashland Community Church service will begin at 11a.m. The church offers adult Sunday school and it begins at 10 a.m. The pastor leading Sunday service will be Paul Berkley.

    College Heights Baptist

    College Heights Baptist Church meets on Sundays for public worship. Worship service begins at 10:30 am. CHBC live streams the service as well; go to the College Heights Baptist Church website and look for the Facebook post for the Oct. 15 Worship service. Sunday school is at 9:15 am.

    First Christian Church

    Pastor Laurie Lewis will give the message “We Bury the Hatchet but Leave the Handle Sticking Out” based on Romans 15:4-13 at the 10:30 a.m. Communion worship. Church school classes are at 9:30 a.m. This Sunday we host a Grand Mere Neighborhood Block Party from 12 to 2 p.m. with games, food, music, and pumpkins! All are welcome. Coordinating Council meets Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. and Ministry teams at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday night Bible study on Samuel 1 and 2 with a light supper starts at 5:30 p.m. Financial Peace class is Thursday, 6 p.m. free and open to the community.     First Congregational UCC

    Worship in-person Sunday at 10:45 a.m. Linda Thurston is guest speaker. Zoom option is available. Adult Sunday school meets at 9:30 a.m. in person and via Zoom.     First Free Methodist

    Sunday school for all ages at 10 a.m. The adult lesson “The King Who Ruled By the Book” 2 Chronicles 34:18-31. Youth have a craft project. Worship service Sunday at 11 a.m. Pastor Lewis O. Smith, Sr. will deliver a Bible message. A missions report will be presented. A administrative board meeting follows the service. The service will be broadcast on Facebook.     First Lutheran Church

    First Lutheran Church is located at 930 Poyntz Avenue. Weekly worship services are Sunday mornings at 8:15 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. The 10:00 a.m. service is livestreamed. The sermon this Sunday is “I Cannot Come to the Banquet”. Free community meals are provided at 6:00 p.m. Monday, Thursday, and Friday.     Join us on Sunday at either our 8:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. service. Both services will be in the sanctuary. Childcare for preschool through second grade is provided from 8 a.m. to noon. Sunday school classes for all ages are from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. Elder Gary Miles will be leading the worship.     Manhattan Jewish Congregation

    Manhattan Jewish Congregation mourns the horrors that happened in Israel last weekend, on Shabbat and the joyous holiday of Simchat Torah. Civilians, including children and babies, and soldiers were killed, wounded, and taken hostage. Our prayers and thoughts are with the victims, their families, and the people in the State of Israel.

    Peace Lutheran

    Our regular worship services have returned. This includes a Traditional Service beginning at 9 a.m., a Christian Education Hour at 10 a.m., and a Contemporary Service beginning at 11 a.m. The Peace-Full Pantry continues with its regular hours: Sunday from 2-4 p.m., Monday from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday from 2-5 p.m., and Thursday from 5-7 p.m.

    St. Paul’s Episcopal

    Celebrant at the Holy Eucharist at 8 and at 10 a.m. is Rev. Margaret McGhee. Christian Formation class at 9 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. This week’s class will begin a three week exploration of various practices of prayer. Learn new ways to enrich your spiritual formation and promote your own personal spiritual growth, led by Deacon Yvonne. Lectio Divina, contemplation of Scripture, meets Saturdays at 11 a.m., open to all. Choir rehearsal is every Wednesday at 7 p.m. and new voices are welcome! St. Paul’s serves a free breakfast on Tuesday and Friday morning, 7 to 8:30 a.m. with the help of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Encore Shop with gently used quality clothing and household goods, is open M-W-F, 1 to 4 p.m. All proceeds go to helping others in our community.
