Let me start by saying please hold your applause till the end; and the boos too. As this is my first go, some of this stuff may be goofy and outlandish
Jeff Skinner Pillow Cover, but hey I'm an amateur. I, like many of you are tired of Sabres being terrible, and equally concerned about Jack throwing in the towel if management can't help him out. Here are my suggestions for the upcoming offseason. Note: I'm not an analytics guy so don't look for me to quote them.I like the Staal trade. He still produces, he fills an immediate need, low cap hit with only a year left, provides a stop gap for the young guys...safe trade. And for the naysayers, all we've heard the past few weeks is develop, develop, develop! It would therefore be a complete contradiction for the new GM to push our young guys too fast. This trade helps avoid that scenario.Anyway...RFA keepers:Olofssen 4/4M AAV
https://www.buffalofanstoreonline.com/Dominik_Hasek_Hoodie-51, Thompson 1/1.5M AAV, Kahun 2/2.5M AAV, Lazar 1/925K AAV, Pilut 1/925K AAV, Ullmark 2/3.5M AAVI've seen the other GMFADs put down the salaries for each guy and I pretty well agree with them. Olofsson gets a great "show me" deal to stay on Eich's wing. Word is Thompson has bulked up that lanky frame, he's got the great shot, and we need to salvage something from the ROR deal. Kahun has upside and speed. Ullmark has great numbers, if not a great record. A flat cap should help GMKA with his deals if he plays his cards right.UFA keepers:NoneMy only consideration here was Larsson, but...good luck in your future endeavors.UFA signings:Erik Gustafsson - 3/4.5M AAV, Mikael Granlund - 7/7M AAV, Garret Sparks - 2/825K AAVWhy? Gustafsson and Granlund are studs, Sparks is better than Johansson.Draft: Allow me to hold off on this a bit.Trades (my favorite):Buffalo trades Rasmus Ristolainen to Vancouver for Jake Virtanen (contingent on his signing 3/2.5M) and a 2021 3rd.Why? We'll save money, we get a big, young forward, Vancouver needs a RD, we restock our 3rd next year, we use none of JVs UFA years (enticement to sign)
https://www.buffalofanstoreonline.com/Tage_Thompson_Flag-223.Buffalo trades the #8 pick, Mitts and Ryan Johnson to Anaheim for the #27 and Max Comtois 1/820KWhy? Max is NHL ready
Zemgus Girgensons T-Shirt, which is more than can be said for draft picks, Anaheim gets two in the top ten of a deep draft and two prospects (pretty much a four for one), Buffalo still gets a 1st round pick, Anaheim has no cap space and so, gains no payroll.Buffalo trades Brandon Montour, Sam Reinhart and 2020 2nd to VGK for Alex Tuch 6/4.75M, Cody Glass 2/864K, 2020 3rd.Why? Montour has value and Vegas needs RD, trading Sam is cheaper than signing him, trading for another young player (Glass) is no different than drafting them, but with less risk, Tuch is a big winger with offensive upside and that's what we need
https://www.buffalofanstoreonline.com/Brandon_Davidson_T_shirt-253.So where was I...calculator don't fail me now!Pretty sure this madness comes in at a 77M cap hit...Kim this gets us to the playoffs and unless any of the Bills can skate...?Ok draft:If Askarov is still available at #27
Dustin Tokarski Pillow Cover, take him, scouts say he's legit.Get Tuch's little brother Luke. That's enough of that. I'm sure our stout, well staffed scouting department will make the right decisions.Lines shake out something like this:Skinner - Eich - OlofssonTuch - Staal - GranlundComtois - Glass - VirtanenKahun - Lazar - ThompsonOkposoDahlin - BorgenGus - JokerMcCabe - MillerPilutUllmark/HuttonSigning the kids:Cap hit going into 21-22 should be roughly $65M once Staal, McCabe, Hutton, Thompson, Lazar and Pilut come off the books. Might be a good time to buy out Okposo. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Bill Guerin and Jonás Brodin for setting a reasonable salary bar.Cozens, UPL, Bryson, Samuelsson would also like to thank the Sabres organization for allowing them time to develop.
