What a dramatic qualifying session we have had in Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
A weekend that has thrown up many uncertainty’s but it is Sergio Perez who takes his first pole position in F1 with a stunning lap at the end of Q3 ahead of the two Ferrari’s of Charles Leclerc & Carlos Sainz.
Max Verstappen could only manage 4th place and the biggest shock result of Qualifying is Lewis Hamilton, 16th place on the grid for tomorrow as he didn’t even get out of Q1.
Firstly, we should talk about Mick Schumacher and the violent crash he suffered in Q2, it brought out the red flags as he slammed into the wall on the exit of turn 12.
Mick was conscious throughout as he managed to speak to the doctors, he was extracted from the car and after checks, he appears to be physically ok and has gone to hospital for precautionary checks.
There was a question over this whole Weekend as on Friday during practice, as there was a missile attack on a Oil Plant about 12km away from the circuit and this led to a 4 hour meeting with the drivers debating whether they should continue for the rest of the weekend. The decision was to continue with the rest of the weekend as planned after the local authorities reassured the FIA and F1 that security and safety measures around the track at a maximum and it is safe to do so.
We are set for an amazing race tomorrow, with so much of the unknown ahead. Who do you think will win?
