On the New York episode of Hoops Passport, Chris Matthews aka “@Lethal Shooter” and Chloe Pavlech travel to the mecca of women’s basketball. While the men’s game gets more attention, women have built a hoops culture in NYC that stands out nationally. The crew visits Christ the King High School in Queens, where legendary coach Bob Mackey has built a powerhouse that delivered Sue Bird, Tina Charles and Chamique Holdsclaw. Then it’s off to meet up with WNBA star Stefanie Dolson, a local legend and Olympic gold medalist. The trip wouldn’t be complete without a visit with HoopYork City, a women’s basketball community founded by Alex Taylor that inspires belonging and camaraderie in hoops.
