Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton are locked on seven F1 championships each, the all-time joint record.
Hamilton's hopes to edge clear with an eighth title were scuppered in Abu Dhabi in 2021, and now Max Verstappen is F1's dominant force with two championships in a row.
Schumacher was a superstar in the 90s and early-00s during his Ferrari heyday and latterly for Mercedes during his comeback. But Hamilton is today's biggest star and has broken many of the great German's records.
Will history remember Schumacher or Hamilton as F1's biggest legend? Or is the debate more complex?
