The F1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix which was due to take place at Imola this weekend has been called off due to extreme flooding in the area. Heavy rain has bombarded the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy throughout Tuesday and Wednesday, leading to extreme flooding. While it is understood the F1 paddock and circuit itself has remained mostly unaffected, surrounding transport links and the local population have been severely impacted. F1 announced the decision on Wednesday afternoon following discussions with the local authorities and promoter.
