George Russell and Lewis Hamilton have been confirmed as the Mercedes F1 race driver pairing until 2025, and on the surface that seems like a move that guarantees the team two strong and successful drivers that can push both each other and the team to the high levels of competitiveness required to succeed in the pinnacle of motorsport.
However, both in the Singapore GP two weeks ago and last weekend's Japanese GP we saw the tension in their push for victory boil over for all to see.
