Johannes Calloni won his first event of the weekend, topping both Jacob Steele & Zachary Poti. The Stanford junior tied his PB in prelims to win in 1:59:01. Meanwhile, Jacob Steele of Indiana knocked more than a second off his prelim time, while Zachary Polti battled it out with Nicolas Albiero on the last 50 for third place.
Regan Smith, who won the 50 backstroke Friday evening, won the 200 back in a scorching mid-season time of 2:06.47 – the third fastest of 2019. Fellow teenager Isabelle Stadden finished second followed closely by Asia Seidt.

Olympic champion Ryan Murphy touched first in the men’s event, going 1:56.27 to complete a backstroke sweep at the meet. Hugo Gonzalez (1:57.51) and Bryce Mefford (1:59.61) finished second and third respectively.
“That was good,” Murphy said of his meet. “It was a nice way to finish out the meet, so I’m definitely pleased with it.”
