Americans earned the top seeds in the men’s 200m breast on Saturday night at the TYR Pro Swim Series - Des Moines. Nic Fink, Chase Kalisz, and Kevin Cordes all battled for the top spot.
Lilly King and Annie Lazor both had sights on winning the 200m breast at the 2020 TYR Pro Swim Series - Des Moines. The winner would need the fastest time in the event in 2020 to take home the title.
Annie Lazor (Beverly Hills, Mich.) received this year’s Perseverance Award. Lazor won the 200m breaststroke at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in June, less than two months after the sudden passing of her father. Making her Olympic debut in Tokyo at age 26, she would go on to win the bronze medal, standing on the awards podium with her teammate, Lilly King, who won silver.
