In 2011, Jalen Rose founded The Jalen Rose Leadership Academy in his hometown of Detroit with the goal of helping turn learners into leaders. The JRLA is in session 11 months out of the year, and prides itself on supporting its scholars all the way through college. Through sports and other extracurricular activities, Jalen says the school can also be a safe haven.
