South Korea’s Kim Ahryoung turned on the jets to win the women’s 200 breast at the 2021 Toyota U.S. Open Championships.
Ahryoung posted a 38.63 final split to touch out Abby Hay, 2:29.86 to 2:30.51 for the win. Hay had led the first 150 meters before succumbing to Ahryoung’s final surge.
Tylor Mathieu raced her way to third with a time of 2:32.73.
Ohio State’s Hannah Bach led from start-to-finish in the women’s 100 breast at the 2021 Toyota U.S. Open Championships.
Bach brought home the gold in the event with a quick 1:09.01 for the win. She led going out in 32.21 before coming home in 36.80.
Jinq En Phee and Tylor Mathieu matched each other with second-place 1:10.28s, more than a second behind the victor.
