In the first playoff hole of the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open, Luke List and Will Zalatoris improbably hit their tee shots to within inches of each other in a fairway bunker. After List hit his approach shot, Zalatoris received a ruling and was able to recreate his prior lie, as List’s shot from the bunker forced more sand to impede Zalatoris’ lie.
