German Jacob Heidtmann and Jay Litherland battled for the top spot in the Men’s 400m IM at the TYR Pro Swim Series - Des Moines and the winner claimed the second fastest time in the world this year. Ryan Lochte also sought a top finish in the 400 IM Friday night.
Jay Litherland, who won the 200 fly Friday evening, backed up that swim with a convincing victory in the 400 individual medley in 4:14.42 – a time that just missed being among the top 10 times of 2019. Charlie Swanson and Sam Stewart rounded out the top three spots, respectively.
2016 Olympian Chase Kalisz had a strong showing in the Men's 400m Individual Medley A Final at the 2021 TYR Pro Swim Series at San Antonio, going 4:16.53 to touch first. Jay Litherland and Jacob Heidtmann finished second and third respectively.
