Madisyn Cox and Melanie Margalis provided maximum drama in the 200m IM at the TYR Pro Swim Series - Des Moines as they came down the home stretch matching one another stroke for stroke.
Melanie Margalis provided one of the more dominant performances of the meet in the 400m IM at the TYR Pro Swim Series - Des Moines. Margalis had the American record in her sights down the stretch.
After finishing second in the 400 IM and 400 freestyle and third in the 100 breaststroke earlier in the meet, Madisyn Cox broke through for her first win in the 200 IM. Her winning time of 2:11.10 outpaced Asia Seidt and Allie Szekely.
Madisyn Cox became the fastest American this season and moved up to No. 5 in the world this season in the women's 200m individual medley. Cox's time of 2:10.00 tied her 2019 national championship-winning swim and was enough to edge Melanie Margalis (2:11.03) and Kathleen Baker (2:11.95).
