Ten of the top 20 players in the world will be teeing it up in the Coachella Valley this week, including 2022 Player of the Year and current World No. 2 Scottie Scheffler, alongside 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions winner Jon Rahm, who won The American Express in 2018, finishing two shots clear of second-place Collin Morikawa. Xander Schauffele is expected to make a welcome return to action after withdrawing from the Sentry Tournament of Champions, playing just eight holes of his second round due to a back injury. Other notable names to look out for include 2021 tournament winner Si Woo Kim, who is playing after a superb victory at the Sony Open in Hawaii last week and World No. 5 Patrick Cantlay, who has finished inside the top 10 in his last two appearances at The American Express, including a runner-up finish in 2021.
