After a period of multi-course rotations, we are back to a standard Full-Field Event with a 36-hole cut. Scottie Scheffler is looking to make history and become the first player since Steve Stricker to win the same PGA TOUR event three years in a row. Stricker won the John Deere Classic from 2009-11. The American has started the season well with two top-10s in three tournaments - T5 at The Sentry and T6 last week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Justin Thomas will also be in the field this week. Since 2018, he has six top-20s at TPC Scottsdale and has claimed two top-10s in two tournaments to start the season. Jordan Spieth will also be teeing it up in Arizona this week. He’s managed four top-10s in seven tries at TPC Scottsdale. It’s also where he carded his career low, a 61 in the third round en route to a T4 in 2021.
