Sandpipers Bella Sims claimed her second win of the night with a triumph in the women’s 200-yard free at the 2021 Speedo Winter Junior Championships - West.
Sims set a meet record with a blazing 1:42.92 for the win. The 16-year-old also moved within a second of Katie Ledecky’s 15-16 national age group record of 1:42.03 set in 2013.

Hayes turned in a time of 1:54.09 for the win, while Sandpipers’ Bella Sims took second in 1:54.90. Irvine Novaquatics’ Teagan O’Dell turned in a third-place effort of 1:56.11.
Phoenix’s Kennedy Noble edged Sandpipers’ Katie Grimes in the women’s 200-yard back at the 2021 Speedo Winter Junior Championships - West.
Noble earned the title in 1:52.73, while Grimes pulled off a tough double, taking second in 1:52.83 shortly after blasting the meet record in the women's 1650-yard free.
Irvine Nova’s Teagan O’Dell wound up third overall in 1:53.23.
