Sandpipers’ Katie Grimes demolished the meet record in the women’s 1650-yard free at the 2021 Speedo Winter Junior Championships - West.
Grimes unleashed a time of 15:34.72 for the win, crushing the 15:56.39 mark set by Gabrielle Kopenski back in 2014.
Grimes’ teammate Claire Weinstein finished second in 15:52.84 with Cypress Fairbank’s Hayden Miller earning third in 16:02.22.
