Florida’s Katie Ledecky kept on rolling this week with another meet record, this time in the women’s 200 free at the 2021 Toyota U.S. Open Championships.
Ledecky threw down a blistering 1:55.47 to win the race by more than three seconds and smash her prelim meet record of 1:56.06 set this morning.
Ledecky swam against a familiar foe as NCAP’s Erin Gemmell took second with a 1:58.61. Gemmell’s father, Bruce, previously coached Ledecky at NCAP before the superstar moved onto Stanford for college.
Tennessee’s Julia Mrozinski completed the podium with a third-place swim of 1:59.85.
